Terms and conditions
By booking an appointment with Annabel's Canine Styling, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Appointments
- Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened grooming session or the appointment being rescheduled, with the full grooming fee still payable.
2. Cancellations and no-shows
- We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
- Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the scheduled service cost.
- Failure to attend an appointment without notice may result in the full appointment fee being charged and future bookings requiring payment in advance.
3. Health and welfare
- Owners must inform us of any known medical conditions, injuries, allergies, behavioural issues, or recent surgeries before grooming.
- Dogs must be fit and healthy enough for grooming. We reserve the right to refuse service if grooming may compromise the dog's welfare.
- Dogs displaying signs of contagious illness, parasites, or infectious skin conditions may be refused service until veterinary treatment has been completed.
4. Vaccinations
- Dogs should be up to date with vaccinations or have appropriate veterinary guidance regarding their health status.
- We reserve the right to refuse dogs if we believe they pose a health risk to other animals.
5. Fleas and ticks
- If fleas or ticks are found during grooming, treatment may be recommended. Additional cleaning and sanitising fees of £5 to £10 (depending on the severity of the infestation) may apply to cover the treatment of the salon and equipment.
6. Matted coats
- Heavily matted coats can cause discomfort and may require clipping close to the skin.
- Owners acknowledge that removing severe matting may reveal or cause skin irritation, redness, cuts, bruising, or pre-existing skin conditions.
- We will always groom humanely and in the dog's best interests.
- An additional charge of £5 to £10 (depending on severity) may apply for heavily matted coats due to the extra time and care required.
7. Aggressive or difficult behaviour
- Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, or anxiety.
- We reserve the right to stop grooming if a dog becomes excessively stressed or poses a risk to itself or our staff.
- Charges may still apply for the time spent grooming.
8. Senior dogs
- Older dogs or dogs with medical conditions are groomed at the owner's risk.
- We will take every reasonable precaution but cannot accept responsibility for complications arising from age or underlying health conditions.
9. Accidents and emergencies
- Every reasonable care will be taken while your dog is in our care.
- In the unlikely event of illness or injury requiring veterinary treatment, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you first. If you cannot be reached and immediate treatment is necessary to protect your dog's welfare, you authorise us to seek veterinary care on your behalf.
- The owner remains responsible for all veterinary costs unless the injury was caused by our negligence.
10. Payment
- Payment is due immediately upon completion of the grooming service unless otherwise agreed.
- We accept cash, card or bank transfer.
11. Collection
- Dogs must be collected promptly once notified that grooming is complete.
- Late collection may incur a charge of £5 for every 15 minutes, unless a late pickup has been agreed in advance.
12. Photographs
- We may take photographs of your dog before and after grooming for training or promotional purposes, including on social media and our website.
- Please let us know before your appointment if you do not wish your dog to be photographed.
13. Personal data
- We collect and process personal information solely for booking, customer service, and legal obligations.
- Your personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. See our privacy policy.
14. Liability
- We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing our services.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
- Our liability for any other loss is limited to the amount paid for the grooming service, except where the law provides otherwise.
15. Acceptance
By booking or attending an appointment, you confirm that:
- You are the owner or authorised keeper of the dog.
- The information you have provided is accurate.
